This is a story about the unusual, because celebrating a wedding in winter is not the most popular decision among young couples. Katrīna and Krišjānis decided to have their wedding in winter, just before Covid-19 lockdown. Their wedding story is very special because of it’s theme – every small nuance and wedding detail is considered. The chosen wedding theme fits perfectly with the chosen season of the year, which in this case is the darkest time of the year. The theme of the winter wedding was magical and perfectly illuminated the beginning of Katrīna and Krišjānis life together, because the stars brighten the darkness and emphasize the necessary things. Katrīna and Krišjānis wedding day was special and it shows also in pictures. What is also special about this wedding is that it took place just before the world turned upside down – both celebrated the wedding during the Covid, which further significantly changed the entire wedding industry and the usual wedding celebration. Obviously, the theme of the astro wedding was not a coincidence – but the exact time of the wedding is recorded in the stars.
Katrina and Krisjanis Winter Astro Wedding
Their wedding is something magical and it is a special pleasure to see when even the most subtle nuances of the wedding are intertwined with the overall wedding theme. From small stars on the table to leather jackets decorated with elements of large bogies, specially designed for a photo shoot. Wedding organizer Zane Rūdele-Krave helped to make this wedding theme dream become a reality.
It’s hard not to notice that their white four legged friend Mia, who was also a witness to the beautiful event, plays a very important role in K & K’s wedding. Yes! Your pet can leave a beautiful footprint on your wedding dress or pants, but, hey, it’s your pet’s stamp of love and your hearts will be warmed when you see all the important characters of your family after years in your wedding albums!
Planning a wedding in the winter
Wedding photographer Einars Freimanis mentions that although all the usual wedding works are focused on the summer, the last three years I feel strongly more desire to marry also in the winter months. Most often they are warm and medium small, family wedding, although there is no shortage of big parties weddings in the winter. Winter weddings are a great choice for those who want a feeling of coziness and warmth. I think so the choice of place for a winter wedding is important. A party place with a fireplace will definitely create what you want mood. There are some places where this option is available. Also a world of scenery and wedding themes creating a winter or autumn wedding has a wider and more interesting spectrum.
What to keep in mind when planning a wedding in winter
Primarily the main thing to pay attention to when planning a winter wedding is time planning. This will be significantly different from a summer wedding. Winter daylight hours are short and should be used to the fullest. In the daylight hours of the day you should also be able to have a wedding photo shoot. During the winter months, wedding photo shoots are usually held before the wedding ceremony. In turn, the evening part will be longer and you will have more time to spend with your wedding guests, which is often not something you can enjoy so much in the summer weddings.
Advantages of planning a wedding in the winter
There are several advantages to have your wedding in winter! Here are the main ones:
- – different from the usual wedding concept
- – more convenient time for organizing. During the summer months, other events are often planned for guests. vacations, trips, festivals that can overlap with your wedding
- – longer part of the evening or party
- – cheaper total wedding costs (wedding service providers’ costs in the off-season are smaller)
Tips if you have chosen to have a winter wedding
- – Carefully coordinate the wedding plan with the presenters and the photographer to be able to perform the desired activities during daylight hours.
- – Please plan a local wedding, but for longer trips, it will save valuable time.
